LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has officially announced Ramadan school timings in Punjab for all educational institutions during the holy month of Ramadan. The new schedule, approved by the School Education Department, is designed to help students and staff who will be fasting while ensuring that their studies don’t get effected.

According to the notification, schools operating on a single shift will run from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, while on Fridays, they will close slightly earlier at 12:30 PM.
For double-shift schools, the morning shift will be conducted from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM on weekdays, while the afternoon/evening shift will commence at 1:00 PM and conclude at 4:00 PM. On Fridays, the afternoon session will run from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Additionally, the government has specified that girls’ schools will begin and end 15 minutes earlier than the scheduled times.
Sindh Also Revises School Timings for Ramadan
Meanwhile, the Sindh government has also adjusted Ramadan school timings for various educational levels. In Sindh, primary schools operating on a single shift will run from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM, while double-shift schools will have morning classes from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM and afternoon sessions from 11:45 AM to 2:45 PM.
Secondary, higher secondary, and elementary schools in Sindh will follow the same pattern, with Friday schedules ending earlier – morning shifts concluding at 10:30 AM and afternoon sessions wrapping up at 1:15 PM.
Implementation and Further Information
All educational institutions have to abide by the new Ramadan school timings in Punjab and Sindh starting from the first day of Ramadan.
