Rain is expected in Pakistan today (Saturday) at isolated places in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, North-East Balochistan, Central/South Punjab and Upper Sindh.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned of duststorm and hailstorm in these regions.
Earlier, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that a weak western disturbance is expected to affect the northern parts of the country from June 13 to 16, potentially bringing rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds to some areas.
In this regard, this type of weather may damage loose structures like (electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels etc).
On Sunday, there is also a possibility of rain in these regions of Pakistan.
Temperature in Pakistan today
According to BBC Weather, temperatures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi will not rise above 40°C.
In Lahore, the temperature is expected to reach 42°C, while in Peshawar, Karachi, and Quetta, it will remain in the 30s (°C).
Since Eid, extreme heat has gripped Pakistan. In these conditions, citizens have been advised to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. Health experts also recommend using umbrellas and applying sunscreen when going outside. Authorities also cautioned against leaving children or pets unattended in parked vehicles, as internal temperatures can quickly become life-threatening.
