WEBDESK: As Pakistan returns to work after the Eid holidays, the heat is making its presence felt. According to the latest weather update, temperatures remain high across many parts of the country, making the transition back to routine life more challenging for citizens.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department has said that the weather is likely to be hot and dry in most parts of the country. It will be extremely hot in the plains.
Islamabad and its surrounding areas will get hot and dry weather, with mercury shooting up high during the day. Strong winds are also expected during this time.
Likewise in Punjab, the weather is expected to be hot and dry in most districts and extremely hot in the plains. Strong and dusty winds are expected in the plains districts in the afternoon.
The official Eid break ran from March 31 to April 2. However, with the weekend attached, many people enjoyed an extended holiday. Today marks the first full working day since the break, with offices, banks, and markets reopening nationwide.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa too will remain hot and dry, and extremely hot in the plains areas of the province, said the weather update. However, in the evening and night, it will be partly cloudy in the upper districts, and light rain may occur in Chitral, Dir and its surroundings.

The current weather update has advised citizens to stay hydrated, wear light clothing, and avoid outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours. Health experts also recommend using umbrellas and applying sunscreen when stepping outside.
Kashmir will get similar weather patterns during the day. In the evening and night hours it will remain partly cloudy. A few places might also get light rain with strong winds and thundershowers.
