WEBDESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that for the first time in it’s history, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will feature full Urdu commentary in its 10th edition.

According to a statement from the PCB, the HBL PSL 10 will feature full match coverage in Urdu, providing cricket fans with the chance to follow their favourite teams in action in their national language.

The move is seen as part of the league’s broader effort to strengthen its connection with local audiences and make the broadcast more accessible.

HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer in the announcement said, “This is a landmark moment for the HBL PSL and its ever-growing fan-base. Cricket is a unifying force in Pakistan and by offering commentary in Urdu for a full game, we are bringing the excitement and energy of the HBL PSL closer to the hearts of fans in every corner of the country.”

The upcoming PSL season will take place from April 11 to May 18, 2025, with matches scheduled in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi. The opening game will see defending champions Islamabad United face off against Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

Broadcast details, including the Urdu and English commentary panels, will be announced closer to the tournament’s start date.

Former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, a familiar voice in previous seasons, does not feature on the current commentary list, according to local reports.

The introduction of full Urdu commentary is just another step towards making the league experience even more enjoyable for fans across the country.

As the league continues to evolve, these changes reflect the league’s dedication to its audience and commitment to promoting the love of cricket in every corner of Pakistan. With PSL tickets going up for sale on April 3rd, cricket fans are excited to see who will lift the trophy.
