ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif spoke to President Asif Ali Zardari on the phone on Friday to check on his health.
During the call, PM Shehbaz sent his best wishes and prayed for the president’s quick recovery. He said the whole nation was praying for Zardari’s health.
President Zardari, who tested positive for Covid-19, is being treated at a private hospital in Karachi after being moved from Nawabshah due to a fever and infection. According to Dr. Asim Hussain, Zardari is getting better, and his recent blood tests show positive signs.
Doctors, including infectious disease experts, are checking on him three times a day. Dr. Asim also said that moving the president to Karachi for treatment was a smart decision.
He hopes the president will be discharged in a few days. Due to Covid-19 concerns, visitor access to the president has been restricted, but his family is regularly updated on his condition.
Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon also confirmed on social media that the president is improving and denied rumours about him being shifted to Dubai.
President Zardari, who is also the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman, took oath as Pakistan’s 14th president on March 10.
