President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for Covid.

The news has been confirmed by his physician Dr Asim Hussain.

Currently, he is isolated and receiving treatment at a private hospital in Karachi.

Earlier, his party member and Sindh minister Sharjeel Memon came forward and reacted to the news regarding his transfer to Dubai.

“The reports about President Asif Ali Zardari being shifted to Dubai for treatment is inaccurate. His health is improving and Inshallah he will be fine very soon”, he said.

What happened to President Zardari?

On the second day of Eid, President Asif Ali Zardari was shifted to a hospital in Karachi.

The president received treatment, and neurologists examined him due to numbness in his fingers and toes. He also had a fever due to an infection, according to reports.

President Zardari, who is 69 years old, has had several health challenges in recent years. In October 2024, he fractured his foot after falling while exiting an airplane. Earlier, in March 2023, he underwent eye surgery in the UAE, and in 2022, he was treated for a chest infection in Karachi. Despite these health issues, he has continued to remain active in politics
