Pakistan to send more than 150,000 skilled workers to Belarus

In a significant development, Pakistan has decided to send more than 150,000 skilled Pakistani youth to Belarus following the recent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif two-day visit to Minsk.

This agreement was reached during a bilateral meeting between the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif at the Independence Hall.

Pakistan and Belarus also agreed to work together on the agricultural and manufacturing sector. It was agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries in the production of electric vehicles, buses, and food security.

The two leaders reiterated their commitment to enhancing defense cooperation and business-to-business cooperation and discussed a range of topics, including trade, investment, and regional affairs.

On April 10, President Alexander Lukashenko hosted a dinner for president Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Mian Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with other senior officials.

In a footage since viral on social media, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could be seen walking towards the Belarusian president with a smile and hugging him, saying, “My dear friend, it is so good to see you!”

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were also present in the meeting.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the Belarusian President for inviting more than 150,000 young skilled workers form Pakistan.

Pakistan has been comprehensively increasing cooperation with Belarus as series of high-level bilateral engagements took place over the past 6 months.

Pakistan has also been increasing cooperation with landlocked Central Asian countries as PM Shehbaz undertook state visit to multiple countries.
