WEBDESK: Pakistan have advanced to the final of the Asian Netball Youth Championship 2025 after a big win over Japan. The match was played on Thursday at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea.
The Green Shirts won the semi-final 64-39, keeping their unbeaten run in the Asian netball tournament alive. This was their sixth straight victory in the competition.
Pakistan dominated from the very start, leading 21-7 after the first quarter. At half-time, the score was 34-19 in Pakistan’s favour. They kept the pressure on, finishing the third quarter at 42-28, before sealing the win.
Star Players Shine in Asian Netball Semi-Final
According to a press release, Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed all gave excellent performances in both defence and attack.
The Pakistan Netball Federation’s president, chairman, and secretary general congratulated the players on reaching the final of this important Asian netball event. The team will now face either the Maldives or Chinese Taipei in the final on Friday.
Earlier in the event, Pakistan had already defeated Japan 79-39 in the group stage, underlining their strength in this year’s Asian netball championship.
The Asian Netball Championship 2025
The tournament, run by the Asian Netball Federation, features 11 teams divided into two groups. Group A includes Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and India. Group B has Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Maldives, and Saudi Arabia.
The championship runs from June 27 to July 4.
