Pakistan railways announces special Eid trains, fare discounts

ISLAMABAD (Azaad English): Pakistan Railways is providing special Eid trains along with fair discounts on this ocassion. Federal Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi revealed that the train services will begin operations on the 25th of Ramadan to provide better travel options for families visiting one another for Eid during his media briefing in Islamabad.

Eid travellers will receive 20 per cent off their train tickets according to information provided by Federal Railways Minister. The transport demand increases every year when millions of people choose to visit their hometowns during Eid. Family trips by train have become more attractive because private bus fares hike up regularly rendering trains as better affordable transportation option.

The minister noticed the present state of Pakistan Railways as part of his briefing. The railway sector experiences money losses yet authorities work on enhancing services and decreasing deficits. Travelers would observe major service improvements in the near future according to his pledge.

The administrator paid attention to protecting railway stations between other issues. Hanif Abbasi acknowledged that his security system fell short of expectations so he promised to deliver improved protection methods. He told the public that repairs would take place immediately to fix the defective baggage scanning machines while a future meeting served as the modification schedule.

Pakistan Railways has modified the operational schedules for reservation offices throughout Ramadan. Reservation offices in Pakistan operate via two shift sessions between the start of Ramadan until its 15th day.
The staff operates between 7:30 am until 12:30 pm in the morning shift. While the evening shift will work from12:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Every Friday from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm Muslims take time for Friday prayer at all railway reservation offices. The offices which run their operations in a single shift will continue their daily schedule as before. The regular workplace operating hours will begin again on the day after Ramadan 15.
