The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced the predictions of rain across the country from Monday (February 24).

The expected rain spell is caused by a westerly weather system, says the meteorological department.

The expected western winds will bring rainfall in various regions.

The official report by PMD suggests that the hailstorms are likely in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad.

The weather department has also predicted snowfall in northern areas while a rain is expected in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during this period.

Added to this, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned the public and private sector of flash floods and the risk of landslides in the mountainous region.

Moreover, tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel for safety concerns during rain.

The reports suggest that Karachi is likely to experience cloudy skies while the temperature will largely remain cool compared to the previous days.

The Meteorological department further stressed that the city of lights  will witness haphazard wind directions in the coming three days.

Notably, the northeastern winds from Balochistan are predicted to enter during the night and early morning hours, while southwesterly sea breezes will dominate in the afternoons.

The PMD advised people  to be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and visibility, especially during early morning hours when fog hamper the traffic flow.
