WEBDESK: The OIC group (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation) has expressed serious concern over the rising tensions between India and Pakistan, calling on India to stop its aggressive actions and hostile language. In a strong statement from New York, the OIC group urged India to avoid moves that could threaten peace in South Asia and around the world.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Group in New York urged India to cease its “hostile rhetoric and aggressive actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.”

This announcement came after Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, briefed the OIC group. He highlighted how India’s repeated, unproven allegations against Pakistan were making the situation worse. The ambassador warned that such actions were harming regional peace and security.

The OIC group strongly condemned terrorism in all forms but also rejected the idea of linking it to any specific country, religion, or culture. It stressed that global cooperation must be fair and not target any one nation unfairly.

“The Group commends the offer of good offices made by the UN Secretary General and calls upon the international community, including the United Nations Security Council and influential states, to take immediate and credible measures to de-escalate the situation”, the statement said.

“The Group reaffirms its unwavering solidarity with the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and urges India to cease its hostile rhetoric and aggressive actions that threaten regional and international peace and security.”

One of the key points raised by the OIC group was the long-standing Kashmir issue. The group reminded the world that this unresolved matter is at the heart of instability in the region. It referred to past OIC resolutions that support a peaceful resolution based on international laws and United Nations decisions.

The OIC group praised Pakistan for showing restraint and not reacting to India’s provocations. It also appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to solving issues through dialogue and diplomacy. The group supported efforts by the United Nations Secretary-General and called on the international community to help reduce the tension.
