In an interesting development, netizens have lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mohan Yadav for being responsible for the construction of a highly unusual 90-degree overbridge in Bhopal, India.
Pictures of the under-construction overbridge became so viral that they became an international meme, with many netizens creating hilarious memes.
The BJP leader, Mohan Yadav, is the Chief Minister (CM) of Madhya Pradesh who has been facing strong criticism from locals for alleged corruption and incompetence.
BJP CM has faced severe pressure after the 90-degree bridge became an international meme. Yadav on Thursday said action will be taken against those responsible for technical flaws in the construction of the railway overbridge in Bhopal.
He has further announced that the bridge would only be inaugurated after its technical faults are removed.
Experts and netizens have questioned its design as the sharp turn poses potential risks for accidents.
According to Indian media, the controversial railway overbridge under the leadership of BJP minister was built at the cost of Rs18 crore.
PWD minister Rakesh Singh then said a team of the National Highway Authority (NHAI), which investigated the matter, found that the strange design was adopted due to the unavailability of land.
One social media user lashed out at the BJP Minister, writing, “So the CM got to know about this 90⁰ Bridge only after it became an international meme and went viral. What does the Chief Minister do the whole day in his office? This coverup is more embarrassing than the bridge itself.”

From Bhopal’s 90° bridge to Andheri’s flyover fiasco, now Lucknow joins with a ₹75cr flyover launched without land acquisition. Nine houses block the way, work stalled for 6 monthsand locals offered below-rate compensation.
