WEBDESK: The hit series Wednesday on Netflix may receive its third season before the second season reaches its premiere date. Jenna Ortega both stars as the lead in and serves as executive producer of the gothic mystery series and recently gave hints about Wednesday season 3.
During Collider’s interview with Ortega she was promoting her upcoming movie Death of a Unicorn against the backdrop of Wednesday Season 2 development. The production work continues while she has been involved with Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) for the project. The editing phase is close to finishing completion.
The writers for Wednesday brainstorm ideas for season three even though Netflix has yet to give official confirmation regarding further installments according to Ortega. The show production team wants to think ahead about their content delivery because of how critical planning proves to be.
The commercial success of Wednesday shows Netflix will likely release Season 3 since they have yet to confirm its development. The first season achieved such high streaming numbers that it surpassed the popularity of Stranger Things Season 4. Season 2 obtained approval only three months following the first season’s launch because of its high popularity.
The production team plans for Season 2 to deliver dark content with increased horror elements throughout its episodes. The creator slighted that a specific episode would borrow characteristics from iconic slasher movie series.
The official release date for Season 2 of Netflix remains undisclosed although fans can anticipate its arrival during the current year since production continues. A formal announcement about Wednesday Season 3 might become possible after the new season turns out to be successful like the initial season.
Among her upcoming releases Ortega appears in two other major productions: the movies ‘Beetlejuice’ and ‘Death of a Unicorn’ which are set to premiere on March 28.
