Known journalist Mansoor Ali Khan heavily criticised the sitting government for its failure to build proper rescue services in Pakistan despite being in power for many years.

He pointed out that even after all this time, the country still lacks advanced technology to predict weather patterns or identify which areas of rivers should be closed off to the public.

Mansoor Ali Khan said, “Every year, there are storms in River Swat that sweep everything away. You people are so shameless—despite the loss of millions and the lives lost, you have not solved this problem. But when it comes to holding a jalsa, you are there within minutes.”

He said he was deeply disappointed and angered after watching videos of the incident that claimed the lives of a family member in Swat.

Taking a jibe at those in power, Mansoor Ali Khan said, “These people use helicopters for anything they want, but they cannot send one to save people drowning in River Swat.”

At least 18 tourists, including women and children, were swept away by flash floods in the Swat River in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday.

Rescue teams have recovered 9 bodies so far, including those of two children.

The tragic incident occurred at Fizagat, where tourists from the two families were having breakfast near the riverbank when a sudden surge in water flow swept several of them away.

A harrowing video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing women and children trapped in the river as onlookers watched in shock.
