Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi is coming to visit Pakistan on Monday (tomorrow) amid Indo-Pak tensions.
The minister is going to meet President Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his counterpart, Ishaq Dar.
The high-level visit is very important for Pakistan at a time when India is shamelessly accusing Pakistan of being involved in Pahalgam incident.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two sides will talk about regional and global developments.
Countries supporting Pakistam
This visit will deepen Pakistan-Iran relations and send a clear message to India about Pakistan’s strong regional alliances in Asia.
It is pertinent to mention that Turkiye, China, Malaysia and other countries have talked to Pakistani govt, expressing their support and urging peace in the region.
Senior Chinese official said that China is watching closely. He said that every country shares the duty of combating terrorism and that China has consistently supported Pakistan’s counterterrorism initiatives.
Pakistan to brief UN
Currently, an important briefing regarding the tensions with India is taking place in Pakistan.
In another development, Pakistan has officially decided to brief the United Nations Security Council on the situation with India.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has directed Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar, to arrange this meeting.
Pakistan’s response to India
In the latest show of strength, Pakistan yesterday successfully tested an improved version of its nuclear-capable Abdali missile, significantly increasing its range to 450 kilometres.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir on Thursday asserted that any “misadventure” by India would be met with a “swift, resolute and notch-up response”. The next day, the army’s top brass also warned India of a “sure and decisive” response should it attempt to impose war.
