WEBDESK: The growing defence alliance between India and Israel, the India-Israel nexus, is raising global concerns as their deepening military cooperation is seen as a major threat to regional and international peace.

Reports suggest this collaboration is not only fuelling unrest in the region but also posing significant dangers to global stability.

The India-Israel defence alliance is now extending far beyond weapons trade, covering areas like cyber security, surveillance, and joint military training.

In the last decade, India has been buying Israeli military equipment to the tune of 2.9 billion dollars.

Such purchases involve next-generation radar systems, surveillance tools, combat drones, and missile systems.

Some of the most important technologies obtained are Heron UAVs, Tavor rifles and Spice 2000 bomb guidance system, which have become a part of the Indian armed forces.

Hindu extremists in India were seen chanting inflammatory slogans during a rally, shouting: “Jo Hamas ka yaar hai, woh hamara gaddar hai, Israel hum tumhare saath hain” (Whoever supports Hamas is a traitor to us, Israel, we are with you).

Analysts say such rallies reflect the deepening covert alliance between India and Israel.

Experts suggest that these openly hateful rallies against Muslims, and in favour of Israel, are no longer just signs of silent support. Instead, they now portray India as an active backer of Israeli policies.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government claims to maintain friendships with various countries, its silence over Israel’s deadly strikes in Gaza and now in Iran has raised questions. Many believe this silence shows clear approval of Israeli aggression.

Indian media, which once claimed neutrality, has openly taken sides in the ongoing conflict.

Reports and analyses have highlighted how Indian coverage increasingly favours Israel, even as the toll on civilians in Gaza and Iran continues to grow.

According to sources, Israeli technology played a major role in India’s Balakot airstrikes.

Weapons used reportedly included the Barak-8 missile system, Heron drones, and the Spice guidance system, all products of the India-Israel defence alliance.

Analysts believe that Pakistan should be already geared up to tackle this increasing military alliance. Improvement of defence and technological self-sufficiency will play significant roles in balancing the region.
