Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar on Tuesday warned that Pakistan has credible intelligence indicating that India is planning military action against Pakistan within the next 24 to 36 hours. The alleged move, he said, is based on “baseless and concocted allegations” linking Pakistan to the recent Pahalgam incident. In an official statement, the minister rejected what he called India’s “self-assumed, hubristic role of judge, jury, and executioner” in the region, calling it reckless and unacceptable. He emphasised that Pakistan, having long been a victim of terrorism, fully understands the suffering caused by it and has consistently condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations globally.

Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to peace, the minister said that the country had proposed a credible, transparent, and independent investigation into the Pahalgam incident by a neutral panel of experts. However, he expressed regret that India appears to have rejected this path in favour of “irrationality and confrontation”, warning that such an approach could have catastrophic consequences for the entire region and beyond.

He further stated that India’s apparent evasion of an impartial investigation raises serious questions about its true intentions. “Making strategic decisions hostage to manipulated public sentiment for political gains is both unfortunate and deplorable,” the statement read.

The minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm stance: any act of military adventurism by India would be met with a decisive and assured response. He urged the international community to take note of the situation, stressing that the responsibility for any escalation and its aftermath would rest squarely on India.

The statement concluded with a strong message of unity and resilience: “The nation stands resolute in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan at all costs.”
