Most people confuse both the Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar and Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar programmes, thinking they are the same. However, they are different initiatives launched by the Punjab government under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Apni Zameen, Apna Ghar focuses on providing free 3-marla residential plots to homeless and deserving individuals across 19 districts of Punjab. Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar aims to construct low-cost houses for people who already have land but need financial support to build a home. While both programmes address the housing crisis, one offers land ownership and the other provides ready-to-live homes, reflecting a broader effort to ensure shelter for all.
