Suzuki Alto is a household name in Pakistan with millions of lower middle-class families owning one of those cars around the country. However, a recent price hike has disturbed many who are aiming to get one in the near future.
Suzuki Alto, mostly known for affordable and accessible ride has seen a surge in prices as the most minimal 660cc car has become relatively expensive with prices climbing up to Rs120,000 to Rs. 2,827,000 for one car.
The parent company Pak Suzuki Motor Company has announced a price increase for its widely popular Suzuki Alto and Ravi models owing to its large-scale production and as part of an effort to improve the quality and safety of the vehicle.
As per the new prices released by Suzuki, Alto, the cheapest new car of the Lahore based company, has seen price hike of over Rs. 100,000 and new rate of Alto VXR MT stands at Rs2,827,000, while Alto VXR AGS and Alto VXL AGS models prices has also moved up to Rs95,000.
The new prices are Rs2,989,000 and Rs. 3,140,000, respectively.

The company mentioned in a notification that the increase in the car prices will be for upgradation that includes “car quality, safety, and comfort.” Additionally, it assured customers that these adjustments will help maintain the standards of the vehicles.

Notably, Suzuki Alto is also prioritized by many for fuel efficiency and easy access to spare parts because of its strong dealership network. Moreover, it has quick resale value and offers essential safety features like ABS and airbags.
Some of its shortcomings include its underpowered performance on highways and long roads, subpar build quality compared to its JDM counterpart, and the absence of air conditioning in the VX model.
Along with that the production issues cause delays, and spare parts are often expensive, which could add to long-term maintenance issues and high cost.
Despite these drawbacks previously Mehran and now Alto remain a go-to choice for budget-conscious customers.
