WEBDESK: Pakistani actor Hania Aamir denies viral statement being widely shared on social media that wrongly linked her to political comments about the recent Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

The fake quote, falsely attributed to Hania Aamir, accused Pakistan’s military and included a plea to the Indian prime minister. The viral post also claimed she called for separating innocent civilians from extremists a statement she insists she never made.

Taking to Instagram, Hania Aamir clarified the matter directly in a story. “I did not make this statement, and I do not endorse or align with the words being linked to me,” she wrote. Calling the quote “entirely fabricated,” she stressed it does not represent her values or beliefs.

In her post, the actor expressed sympathy for the victims of the April 22 attack, saying, “Pain like this is real, and it deserves empathy, not politicisation.” She also highlighted the danger of spreading unverified claims, warning that such actions deepen social divisions.

Hania Aamir added, “The actions of extremists do not represent an entire nation or its people. Assigning blame without evidence only leads to more hatred and less understanding.”

The false statement had also claimed she spoke against a ban on Pakistani artists in India, which she has denied. In her message, the star encouraged her followers to fact-check information before sharing it online and urged for peace, unity, and kindness.

Following the attack, India blamed Pakistan for the violence a claim Pakistan denies. In the fallout, several Pakistani Instagram accounts, including Hania Aamir’s, were blocked in India. Additionally, 16 Pakistani YouTube channels have also been banned as tensions rise between the two nations.
