A new gas schedule for Ramadan 2025 has been released with details of the gas loadshedding timings and uninterrupted gas supply hours.

The gas schedule for Ramadan is really important for citizens to know so that they face no issue during the meal preparations of Sehr and Iftar.

Gas schedule for Ramadan: Sindh and Balochistan timings

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced the hours of the gas loadshedding a few days ago for Sindh and Balochistan.

According to the company, from 9am to 3pm and from 10pm to 3am there will be no gas. Otherwise, the citizens will have access to gas for the preparation of Sehr and Iftar.

The gas loadshedding timings are applicable in all the cities of Sindh and Balochistan, including Karachi, Quetta, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Hub and Gwadar.

SSGC is mainly responsible for the gas supply to Sindh and Balochistan.

Gas loadshedding in Karachi

Despite the claims made by SSGC mentioned above, Karachiites have faced gas shortage today, which was the first day of the holy month. The gas was not coming at all, forcing the citizens to eat out during Sehri and Iftar, according to reports.

Areas including Rifah Aam Society, Malir, Nazimabad, Gulbahar, and Ranchore Line were severely affected in Karachi.

Gas schedule for Ramadan: Punjab and KP timings

Just like SSGC, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said that the company would ensure ‘uninterrupted’ gas during Sehr and Iftar hours.

Citizens of Lahore, the capital of Punjab, face gas load shedding throughout the year. However, this time, SSGC has promised an uninterrupted gas supply during Ramadan.

The residents of the two provinces will have gas between 2:30am and 8:00am, while for Iftari between 2:30pm and 10:00pm.

SNGPL primarily gives gas to North Central Pakistan including Punjab and KP.

Reason behind gas loadshedding in Pakistan

It is pertinent to mention that although it is almost spring in Pakistan, citizens are still facing severe gas loadshedding.

The main reason behind this outage is less gas reserves in Pakistan and a surge in demand, hence, the government has allocated specific hours for gas supply.

Gas reserves are declining almost 8 to 10 per cent in Pakistan every day.

According to SSGC, by 2027 Pakistan’s gas reserves are expected to be reduced by half, which is quite alarming news for the citizens.
