A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Swat, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Swat and nearby areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday around 1:30pm prompting residents to rush out of their homes in panic. No casualties or property damage have been reported so far.
The earthquake tremors were also felt in Islamabad.
Tremors were also felt in Nowshera, Lower Dir, Malakand, Khyber, Upper Dir, Chitral, Shangla, Buner, Swabi, and surrounding areas.
The epicenter of the quake was the Hindukash mountains in the Afghanistan region, according to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC),
