WEBDESK: The Punjab government has announced the CM Punjab laptop scheme 2025, aiming to provide 110,000 free laptops to outstanding students across the province. This initiative is designed to support higher education and improve students’ access to technology.
The initiative also includes 2,000 laptops reserved for minority students. The scheme is open to students who have completed their matriculation or intermediate education.
The scheme is open for BS students of public sector educational institutions in the first and second semesters.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, while announcing the launch of the CM Punjab laptop scheme, stated that under this initiative, 110,000 students will receive the latest generation laptops from the Chief Minister of Punjab.
Who Can Apply?
Students eligible for the CM Punjab laptop scheme must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled in the 1st or 2nd semester of a BS program at a public university or college.
- Scored at least 65% in intermediate (for general students).
- Medical and dental students must have at least 80% marks in intermediate.
- Applicants must have a Punjab domicile and must not have received a laptop from a previous scheme.
Application Process
Interested students can apply by visiting cmlaptophed.punjab.gov.pk and submitting their details online.
Laptop Distribution & Timeline
- 20,000 laptops for university students.
- 14,000 laptops for college students.
- 2,000 laptops for minority students.
- 32% reserved for South Punjab students.
The first phase of laptop distribution will start after Ramadan 2025. According to Rana Sikandar Hayat, with over 34,000 students already registered, the scheme is receiving massive interest.
