Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind said that Quetta police took legal action to clear a blocked road, as the closure caused distress to travellers.

He accused the Balochistan Yakjehti Committee (BYC) of disrupting public life by blocking a national highway.

Rind claimed that BYC protesters engaged in violence, attacking the police with stones. As a result, ten people, including a lady constable and other police personnel, were injured and taken to the hospital.

He also questioned the identity of the dead bodies placed on the road by BYC as part of their protest. He stressed that disturbing law and order only creates chaos and warned that taking the law into one’s own hands would not be tolerated.

According to Rind, ensuring public safety is the government’s constitutional duty, and it will take all necessary steps to fulfill this responsibility.
