Pakistan young cricketer, Hassan Nawaz’s mother and father have expressed their joy over their son’s outstanding performance against New Zealand.
Hassan Nawaz smashed an unbeaten 101 off just 45 balls, hit 10 fours and seven sixes.
Hassan Nawaz’s father said that despite limited resources, his son never gave up. He started his journey from the underdeveloped area of Kotla Haji Shah in Layyah. “We are extremely happy with his brilliant performance and grateful to God,” he added.
Why didn’t Hassan Nawaz’s mother watch the match?
Hassan Nawaz’s mother revealed that she didn’t watch the match out of fear that her gaze might bring him bad luck.
Speaking after the game, player of the match Hassan Nawaz said, “The way I got out in first two matches, I was very disheartened, but captain and Shadab supported me, told me I am a match winning player and that helped me. I just had in my mind that I need to score a single first in international cricket and then after that I felt relaxed and the pressure was released. I had so much backing and I am so grateful to my captain.”
He broke Babar Azam’s record and and now is the first-ever Pakistan player to score a T20I in less than 45 balls.
Due to Hassan’s century, Pakistan won the match.
So far, Pakistan has won one T20 match against New Zealand and Kiwis have won two matches.
