Azaad Fact Check has debunked yet another piece of misinformation originating from an India-based X (formerly Twitter) account that falsely claimed the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had entered Sindh and stolen an Australian C-17 Globemaster military aircraft from Rahim Yar Khan airport.
The post, labeled as “#Breaking” and shared widely on social media, further alleged that the TTP had trained kamikaze pilots to carry out 9/11-style attacks in Islamabad using the aircraft.
However, Azaad Fact Check confirmed that the claim is entirely baseless and fictitious. “There is no evidence to support any of these assertions. The story is a complete fabrication, likely intended to incite fear and spread disinformation,” the organization said in a statement.
Interestingly, apart from the fact that Indian based accounts regularly spread fake news against Pakistan, but this ridiculous claim has also factual inaccuracies.
Rahim Yar Khan is located in Punjab, not Sindh.
Furthermore, stealing and operating a C-17 Globemaster would not only be logistically impossible for the Indian-sponsored terrorist group but it would also trigger an immediate international response.
The fabricated claim is the latest in a series of disinformation attempts targeting Pakistan and circulating through fringe accounts on Indian social media.
