President Asif Ali Zardari discharged from hospital after recovery

In a significant development, President Asif Ali Zardari has been discharged from the hospital after showing full recovery on Friday.

According to Dr. Asim Hussain, President Zardari was discharged from the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19. Doctors have advised President Asif Zardari to undergo further physiotherapy.

Earlier today, his physician had announced: “The president has tested negative for COVID-19 on a rapid test but remains under the care of infectious disease specialists.”

Dr Asim earlier today also stated that it was expected that President Asif Ali Zardari would remain in hospital for a few more days as a precaution.

Following his COVID diagnosis, President Asif Ali Zardari was placed in isolation under close medical supervision.

“Infectious diseases department experts examine President Asif Zardari three times a day,” revealed Dr Asim.

He also clarified that no visitors are being allowed to meet with President due to COVID-19 precautionary measure.

It should be noted that the President was admitted to the hospital on April 1 due to ill health. He was transferred from Nawabshah to Karachi on the night of Eidul-Fitr and remained in the hospital for more than 10 days.

Karachi Police on April 4 arrested a senior police official under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 (PECA) for online remarks against President Asif Ali Zardari.

The Sukkun police arrested the Station Investigation Officer (SIO), Abrar Shah, who was stationed at the Ibrahim Haidari police station.

Interestingly, the case was filed against Shah following a complaint of a fellow police officer, identified as duty officer Yaqoob.

SIO Abrar Shah allegedly made an objectionable social media post against the PPP leader and President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on April 2.
