Pakistan’s tourism industry expected to generate $4 billion in 2025

In a significant development, Pakistan’s tourism sector is expected to generate over $4 billion in revenue by 2025.

According to forecast by Tourism Pakistan and Statista Travel, Pakistan’s travel and tourism industry is projected to grow at an annual rate of 6.75% in the next four years.

If this industry moves at the projected growth then the Pakistan’s tourism sector could potentially reach a market volume of $5.53 billion by the end of 2029.

The report highlighted the importance of ‘holiday packages’ which are very dominant in this market has an estimated revenue of $1.92 billion in 2025. There are numerous travelling and tourism agencies present on different social media platforms who market heavily in this segment.

The report suggested that the number of people is expected to rise in this category to 22.17 million by 2029.

It should be noted that Pakistan’s tourism industry has been booming, particularly among local travelers who remain keen to explore their country.

Traditionally, the country’s Northern areas are known for their mesmerising beauty and wonderful landscapes, away from the hustle and bustle of cities.

Pakistan’s tourism sector has also witnessed a rise in international travelers in the last decade due to many reasons including the digital revolution, better security situation and infrastructure.

Local tourism has also witnessed a boom because of better overall security situation and comparatively better economic conditions. The presence of social media and digital tools to easily plan trips without any hassle also make it easier for local tourists to travel.

Statista reported that the growth in Pakistan’s tourism market can be tracked to government’s initiatives to promote tourism, modernised infrastructure, and increased connectivity across the country.
