The opening match of Champions Trophy 2025: Pak vs NZ will take place today in Karachi.

Under the captaincy of Mohammad Rizwan, the fans are excited to see Shaheens play in the Champions Trophy, an event that has never been held in Pakistan until now.

The tournament will continue till March 9. All matches will be played in Pakistan except Indians.

Ahead of Pak vz NZ match, Rizwan said that the Pakistan cricket team wants to win the event for the country and people and mentioned previous winnings of the team like 2017 Champions Trophy.

He also talked about the importance of this event mentioning that “a global event has come to Pakistan after 29 years so I think the whole nation should enjoy this historic occasion.”

The match will take place at National Bank Stadium, Karachi. The toss is likely to take place around 1:30pm PKT and the first ball will be bowled at 2:00pm PKT.

According to Google, Pakistan has a 56 per cent chance of winning while New Zealand has 44 per cent.

Routes from Karsaz to the stadium, Millennium to New Town, and the Stadium Signal to Hassan Square will be closed.

Heavy traffic will be allowed to move from Sohrab Goth to Nipa, from Liaquatabad No 10 to Hassan Square, and from PP Chowrangi to the University Road.

The fans coming to watch the match will be able to park their vehicles at the National Coaching Centre, the Expo Centre and the China Ground.

Is Haris Rauf going to play against New Zealand?

Rizwan has confirmed the return of Haris Rauf, saying “he is bowling in full rhythm.”

Prior to this, Rauf himself said that he is feeling great and not feeling that much pain when he is bowling.

During Tri-Nation Series against New Zealand, Rauf was hurt. He had to leave the field  due to a muscular sprain in his lower chest wall.
