WEBDESK: Streaming now on Netflix, Ziam 2025 movie has landed with a punch or several, to be precise. This Thai action horror film by Kulp Kaljareuk has been thrown into a dystopian world of imminent collapse, it boasts incessant fight scenes, a zombie outbreak that keeps viewers on the edge of their seat, and most of it takes place indoors, inside a hospital.
Despite relying heavily on old genre tropes, Ziam 2025 movie still finds time to provide plenty of thrills, bone shattering action, and Muay Thai spiced combat to keep its audience glued to the 90 minutes running time.
Ziam 2025 Movie: A Familiar, Yet Entertaining Plot
Talking about the dystopia, Ziam 2025 movie sets its grim atmosphere even before the title is displayed. The chaos that was soon to happen was caused by climatic disasters and food shortage coupled by a corrupt and totalitarian government. A secret bacteria, which is emanated by thawing of polar icecaps, starts destroying sea life, and countries are in panic.
Amid this turmoil, Singh a former underground boxer now working as a resource transporter is pulled into a nightmare when a rare fish species introduced by wealthy mogul Vasu triggers a zombie outbreak in Bangkok’s central hospital, where Singh’s partner Rin works as a doctor.
The infection starts when Vasu’s team unveils crates of the contaminated fish, billed as a medical miracle. A senior official, Purich, becomes Patient Zero. Within hours, staff, soldiers, and patients begin transforming into flesh-eating zombies. Singh, learning of the chaos, races through the infested city to save Rin.
Ziam 2025 Movie: A One Man Rescue Mission
Along the way, Singh teams up with a young boy named Buddy, whose mother was close to Rin. Buddy reveals a vital tip: the zombies can only be killed by destroying the brain. This piece of information helps Singh fight his way through the relentless hordes, leading to several intense, close-quarters action scenes.
In the hospital, Rin tries to live and also to save others. At the same time, military command states that the hospital will be a containment area and will bomb it in order to prevent further infection.
Vasu, the man whose blind faith in an untested solution caused the catastrophe, is shown as a desperate and sympathetic figure. Holed up on the hospital’s top floor with his infected wife, Vasu asks Rin for blood to save her. In a tragic turn, his wife turns into a zombie, bites him, and both are consumed by the infected swarm.
The Final Escape: Does Singh Survive?
As medics evacuate Rin and Buddy by helicopter, Singh is gravely wounded after being mistakenly shot by soldiers. Despite his injuries, he fights off zombies, buying time for Rin and Buddy to escape.
Left behind, Singh hides as a strange rain falls, reviving the undead into even more terrifying creatures. The Ziam 2025 movie ends with Rin and Buddy starting a peaceful life in the countryside, while Singh is shown alive, battered but still fighting for survival.
A Mixed Bag: Action Over Substance
Though Ziam 2025 movie does what it says burn up the high-octane action its story line is thin. The movie nudges at a more strenuous political statement, and its reproach of oppressive government and monetary accumulation, however does not take it at all that seriously. The dystopian arrangements, totalitarian government, and greedy elites are background details rather than storylines.
The romance between Singh and Rin is too abruptly written and Singh is not a much rounded character more than an invincible warrior. The Muay Thai action scenes are not quite up to the genre standards and in spite of being well performed by Mark Prin Suparat, they still do not match the standards of Ong Bak.
Ziam 2025 Movie: A Short Review
Ziam 2025 film is a combination of good and bright moments. On the positive aspect, the movie offers lean, well-timed action sequences with stunning Muay Thai fight sequences making the heart go berserk.
The leading roles are good in general, but Nychaa Nuttanicha is especially prominent as Rin, showing a lot of natural emotion and strength in the character. The whole localisation of the film into the confined area of a hospital contributes to the typical claustrophobic atmospheric tension of the genre.
Nevertheless, it is lacking in quite a number of aspects. The plot is mediocre and cliched, as it does not add much to the old formula. The design of the zombies is anything but impressive and does not make a memorable impression, whereas hints towards some socio-political statement that the film has to convey are kept at that.
Emotional moments, meant to give the story more depth, often feel forced and underdeveloped, making it difficult for audiences to fully connect with the characters’ struggles.
Ziam 2025 movie is an entertaining, if formulaic, zombie thriller best enjoyed for its gritty, hand to hand combat and relentless pacing. While it won’t win awards for originality or depth, it’s a solid pick for action and horror fans looking for a straightforward, blood-soaked thrill ride on a lazy evening.
With a sequel hinted at in its final moments, it remains to be seen whether future instalments will build on its intriguing dystopian world or continue as pure, unpretentious action spectacles.
