Junaid Safdar’s first marriage:

Junaid’s first wedding with Ayesha Saif took place in London in 2021. The wedding festivities continued for days, with some functions held in Pakistan and others in London. His marriage was the talk of the town and widely covered in the media.

It was particularly observed because of his mother, Maryam Nawaz. Her political opponents also used the wedding as an opportunity to criticise her. From her choice of clothing to the spending on the wedding, everything was closely watched by the media and her political rivals.

However, the sudden divorce of the couple came as a shock.

Junaid removed all pictures with his former wife from Instagram following their separation. Ayesha, is the daughter of Saifur Rahman Khan, a close aide of Nawaz Sharif and former chairman of the Ehtesab Bureau during Nawaz’s 1997 term. Ayesha was born and raised in Qatar, studied in England, and graduated from University College London. She previously served as a director at Redco International, a prominent industrial and contracting firm in Qatar. The couple’s wedding reception took place in Islamabad on December 14, followed by a valima in Lahore on December 17.
