When can you watch the lunar eclipse 2025 in Pakistan?

In an interesting development, Pakistanis are set to experience a beautiful total lunar eclipse (Chand Grahan) across the country on Friday.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has revealed that the lunar eclipse 2025 will begin at 8:57 am PST, reach totality at 11:58 am, and conclude by 3:00 pm.

During this time period, the moon will take on a reddish hue which is often considered a picturesque scene by many.

It should be highlighted that because the lunar eclipse or chand grahan will take place in the daytime so it will not be visible in the country. 

This total lunar eclipse is this year’s first occurrence of eclipse while astronomy experts have stated that the country will witness two lunar eclipses in 2025.

The second lunar eclipse will occur later in the year and will be visible on the night of September 7 and 8, along with parts of Europe, Asia, and Africa.

The first lunar eclipse will not be visible due to its early timing but it will be visible in North and South American countries.

Furthermore, people across the globe will witness two solar and two lunar eclipses in 2025. The second lunar eclipse will begin at 8:28 pm on September 7 and end at 1:55 am on September 8, according to experts.

After this year’s first lunar eclipse, the first solar eclipse will also occur in March, 2025. However, it also will not be visible in Pakistan, according to the Meteorological Department.

The solar eclipse will occur on March 29 while the second solar eclipse will occur between September 21 and 22 and that will not be visible in Pakistan as well.

A lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, which casts a shadow over the moon giving it a reddish hue.
