ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts strong winds coupled with rain during Thursday for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and throughout other regions of Pakistan in its latest weather update.
According to the PMD, a westerly weather system is moving over western Pakistan and will affect northern areas within the next 24 to 36 hours. Due to this, scattered rain and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Most regions of Pakistan including the twin cities will experience hot dry conditions throughout Friday and Saturday.
The forecasting temperature for Thursday in Islamabad spans 32°C to 34°C but Rawalpindi residents can expect a range of 30°C to 32°C. Temperatures during Friday will descend marginally in Islamabad to 31°C to 33°C while Rawalpindi will experience 29°C to 31°C.
Hot conditions with dry conditions have dominated the entire region of Pakistan during the past 24 hour period. The towns named Chhor, Nawabshah, Tando Jam and Turbat reached the highest temperature mark of 42°C. The maximum temperature in Hyderabad along with Mithi Lasbela Padidan Rohri Sakrand and Thatta equalled 41°C.
A maximum temperature of 33°C became recorded in Islamabad on Wednesday while morning humidity remained at 16%. Rawalpindi experienced its highest temperature at 31°C during this period yet morning humidity remained low at 9 per cent.
Residents of the twin cities are advised to stay prepared for rain and windy conditions on Thursday.
