Weather today: rain, strong winds to hit KP

PESHAWAR: The weather forecast today indicates heavy rain and powerful winds are predicted across Peshawar within Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain and strong winds to hit Peshawar along with many Khyber Pakhtunkhwa regions on Thursday.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department indicates that western Pakistan’s weather system will hit upper regions starting in the next 24 to 36 hours period. Precipitation together with stormy conditions will affected Waziristan along with Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Kurram, Kohat, Hangu, Khyber, Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, Karak, Peshawar, Chitral and Dir during Wednesday night.

The weather in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s overall area will remain cloudy together with continuing rain and wind conditions in Chitral and other districts including Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Swabi, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Bajaur, Mohmand, Orakzai, Mardan, Kurram, Kohat, Hangu, Khyber. Areas outside the mentioned geographical region will experience a dry day according to weather forecasts.

Today Peshawar has forecasted maximum temperatures from 32°C to 34°C yet Friday will bring temperatures within 31°C to 33°C range.

The majority of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts endured mostly dry conditions alongside hot temperatures during the previous 24-hour period. Dera Ismail Khan achieved the highest temperature in the province when it reached 36 degrees Celsius. The measured relative humidity during the evening equated to 40%.

The evening relative humidity measurement in Peshawar reached 35 per cent while the maximum temperature reached 33°C.

PMD has also predicted strong winds coupled with rain during Thursday for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and throughout other regions of Pakistan in its latest weather update.

The weather introduces heavy rainfall and strong wind gusts so people in Peshawar along with its nearby cities must take precautions.
