WEBDESK: In an exclusive interview with Azad Digital, prominent Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, a key figure in the Khalistan movement, made strong statements regarding the ongoing Pak-India tensions in light of the Pahalgam incident stating that they would not allow India to attack Pakistan through Punjab.

The April 22 attack in Pahalgam saw 26 people, mostly tourists, killed in what is being described as the deadliest armed attack in the disputed Himalayan region since the year 2000. Responsibility for the attack was allegedly claimed by the hitherto unknown The Resistance Front (TRF).

Pannu emphasized that they would not allow India to attack Pakistan, especially by crossing into Punjab. He highlighted that the situation today is unlike the 1965 and 1971 wars, stating, “We stand with Pakistan like a brick because the name of Pakistan is pure.”

Pannu’s remarks come amid rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, with many fearing the possibility of India to attack Pakistan resulting in an all-out war.

Reflecting on recent developments, Pannu condemned the actions of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, claiming that Modi’s Hindutva agenda was failing. He further accused Modi of orchestrating violence in the Indian-administered Kashmir region, particularly in the wake of the Pulwama attack. According to Pannu, the attack was part of a larger plan to isolate Pakistan and gain political leverage ahead of the elections.

“The attack in Pulwama was carried out by Indian agencies to further Modi’s political agenda. Modi needed this violence to win elections and to isolate Pakistan on the global stage,” Pannu stated. He added that during the visit of the US Vice President, the opportunity was used to fuel anti-Pakistan sentiments.

He further stressed that Pakistan had to pursue this incident to the end in the UN Security council meeting that took place today.
