WEBDESK: Uzbekistan Airways is all set to begin direct flights from Tashkent to Islamabad starting May 24, 2025. This new route aims to improve air travel between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, making it easier for people to travel, do business, and explore each other’s cultures.
The launch of the new service is a result of joint efforts between Uzbekistan Airways JSC and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Pakistan. It marks an important step in strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
In the beginning, Uzbekistan Airways will operate the Tashkent-Islamabad flight once a week, every Saturday. Talks are currently underway with Pakistan’s civil aviation authorities to complete the necessary arrangements. Depending on passenger demand and operational needs, the airline plans to increase the number of weekly flights in the future.
Uzbekistan Airways is also looking into starting direct flights to Karachi, which is Pakistan’s largest city and main economic center. If approved, this move could open even more doors for trade and tourism between the nations.
At present, Uzbekistan Airways already runs regular flights between Tashkent and Lahore twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. The addition of the Islamabad route gives travelers more choices and improves overall connectivity.
This new flight is expected to benefit not only tourists but also businesspeople, students, and families. It will also support trade, cultural exchanges, and economic partnerships between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
