US Congress members hail Pakistan visit as major success

WEBDESK: Members of the US Congress visiting Pakistan have described their trip as highly successful, calling it a step forward in strengthening relations between the two countries.

During their visit, the US Congress members met with senior political and military leaders of Pakistan. These meetings, they said, will help deepen cooperation in key areas such as economic growth, trade, and regional stability.

Speaking about the visit, Congressman Jack Bergman said, “The importance of Pakistan-US relations is undeniable, and it cannot be underestimated in the future.”

Congressman Jack Bergman said the importance of the Pakistan – United States relationship should not be underestimated. “This partnership can positively impact not only Pakistan and the United States but also many developing regions around the world,” he stated.

He noted that the US Congress is particularly focused on boosting cooperation in sectors like mineral resources. “These efforts will lay the groundwork for strong industries that will benefit both nations,” Bergman added. He also highlighted the role of modern mining and innovative production in shaping the future.

Congressman Thomas Richard Suozzi expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. Starting his speech with “Assalamu Alaikum” and “Thank you,” he said the hospitality of the Pakistani people made the visit truly special. “We see Pakistani immigrants as ambassadors who’ve succeeded in America,” he said, calling for deeper economic ties between the two countries.

Congressman Jonathan Luther Jackson called the Pakistan visit encouraging and said, “I witnessed a practical display of faith, unity, and discipline in Pakistan.”

“There is a golden opportunity to further strengthen ties with Pakistan on the basis of shared history and trust,”

He also visited religious sites and expressed confidence in Pakistan’s bright future.

The US Congress delegation emphasized the importance of mutual respect, shared values, and strong partnerships. They committed to further improving ties and working closely with Pakistan for long-term development and cooperation.

Earlier, the delegation met Chief of Army Staff, Gen Asim Munir, on Sunday. The lawmakers commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their pivotal role in combating terrorism and acknowledged Pakistan’s enduring contributions to regional peace and stability

Moreover, discussions related to regional security and defence cooperation were also held.
