Turkish Technic has denied any involvement in the recent Ahmedabad plane crash, which claimed over 200 lives. The clarification came after some Indian media outlets, including Republic TV, linked the aircraft’s maintenance to the Turkish company. However, Turkish sources, including Anadolu Agency, confirmed that the aircraft involved was not part of Turkish Technic’s fleet and that viral images shared online were misleading.

Indian media is at it again – this time blaming Turkey for the Ahmedabad plane crash that killed over 200 people

The tragic incident occurred on Thursday evening during take-off. Republic TV, one of India’s leading news channels, has pointed fingers at Turkey, arguing that maintenance of the ill-fated aircraft was the responsibility of a Turkish firm, Turkish Technic, which operates under the country’s national carrier, Turkish Airlines.

However, according to Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency, the Indian media’s claim is false. The aircraft involved in the Ahmedabad crash was a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, while the images circulating online showing a plane in front of Turkish Technic hangars, actually depict a Boeing 777.

An April 9 Instagram post by Turkish Technic confirms that its agreement with Air India covers full base maintenance exclusively for the Boeing 777 fleet.

Sources further clarified that the Boeing 777 aircraft maintained in Istanbul under this agreement are operating without any reported issues—making Turkey’s link to the crash factually incorrect.
