Turkey’s Erdogan urges Pakistan and India to peacefully resolve tensions.

“Trkey wants a de-escalation between Pakistan and India, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday, after the two exchanged small arms fire following last week’s deadly attack on tourists in Kashmir,” repoted Reuters.


Erdogan made those remarks while speaking in Ankara following a cabinet meeting.

Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a phone call with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, on Sunday.

During the call, Dar updated Wang on the rising tensions between Pakistan and India after recent terrorist attacks in Kashmir. Dar emphasized that Pakistan is committed to fighting terrorism and opposes any actions that could make the situation worse.

Dar also assured Wang that Pakistan is handling the situation calmly and plans to stay in touch with China and the international community as the situation develops.

Wang, a senior Chinese official, said that China is closely monitoring the situation. He mentioned that fighting terrorism is a shared responsibility of all nations and that China has always backed Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts.

Wang also pointed out the strong friendship and partnership between China and Pakistan, saying China fully understands Pakistan’s security concerns and supports its efforts to protect its sovereignty.

Wang expressed China’s support for a fair and timely investigation into the attacks. He also stressed that conflicts between Pakistan and India harm both sides and threaten regional peace.

Wang urged both countries to show restraint, talk to each other, and work together to reduce tensions and promote stability in the region.
