WEBDESK: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir will be meeting US President Donald Trump, for lunch at the White House today.

The official presidential diary shows this meeting is set for 1:00 pm in the Cabinet Room at the White House, 10pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST) later today.

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir, is currently on an official trip to the United States.

Field Marshal Asim Munir is set to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday as part of his official visit to the United States, security sources have confirmed.

According to the White House’s public schedule, the lunch meeting will take place in the Cabinet Room at 10pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST) later today.

As part of his visit, he met with members of the overseas Pakistani community in Washington DC, where he received a warm and enthusiastic welcome from those who had gathered to meet him.

During his interaction with the diaspora, the army chief recognised the key contributions made by Pakistanis living abroad.

He praised them for acting as Pakistan’s ambassadors and acknowledged their strong role in supporting the country’s economy through remittances, investments, and achievements in various fields.

Overseas Pakistanis in the United States gave Field Marshal and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, a warm and enthusiastic welcome during his official visit.

A large number of community members gathered in Washington D.C. to meet him and show their support.

The Overseas Pakistani community paid a heartfelt tribute to the Armed forces, especially praising their bravery and professionalism after Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.

In a show of solidarity, videos of the Army Chief and visuals of a beautiful, resilient Pakistan were displayed across several prominent locations, including Times Square in New York and key spots in Washington D.C.

According to sources, digital trucks also moved around Washington’s streets, showing powerful visuals honouring the Armed Forces and martyrs, drawing attention to their sacrifices and dedication.

This high-level engagement comes at a tense time in the region. Just last month, India carried out unprovoked strikes on multiple Pakistani cities and military sites.

The attacks were linked by India to the April 22 incident in Pahalgam, further raising tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

Despite India’s aggressive rhetoric and attempts to isolate Pakistan diplomatically, it is Pakistan’s top military leadership that is engaging directly with global powers at the highest level.

While Delhi pushes theatrics over substance, Islamabad is quietly strengthening its strategic ties, today’s lunch between Field Marshal Asim Munir and President Trump is a clear reflection of that shift.

Indian Politician slams Modi while Pakistan Army Chief meets Trump

This has also gained Modi more criticism.

Deputy Leader of Trinamool Congress in the Rajya Sabha, Member of Parliament, and journalist Sagarika Ghose has criticised Modi for chasing photo-ops at G7 while Pakistan’s army chief meets Trump at the White House.

Whereas, the Indian netizens also do not seem very happy.
