WEBDESK: A train accident occurred on Saturday involving the Allama Iqbal Express, which was traveling from Lahore to Karachi. The incident took place near Kotri Station when the last carriage of the train derailed after the coupling broke, causing it to separate from the rest of the train.
The Allama Iqbal Express accident did not result in any harmed passengers.
After the accident occurred railway officials rushed to restore the separated carriage back to the tracks while repairing the damaged coupling. The incident created train delays that affected trains operating between Hyderabad and Kotri. Passengers faced major delays because repair efforts that should require two to three hours to finish were taking place.
The recent railway safety concerns in Pakistan have been heightened by this accident that follows the violent Jaffar Express assault in Balochistan last month. The rescue mission conducted by security forces freed all 104 hijacked persons consisting of men, women, and children who were being held by terrorists. Security forces executed a praised rescue mission under difficult conditions while gunfire continued as they freed all the hostages through their quick and efficient actions.
