Security agencies have launched an urgent probe following a second drone attack on the Miryan police station in Bannu.
The drone, reportedly a quadcopter, dropped an explosive near the gate of the police station, injuring two civilians.
This latest strike, compared to the former ones, has once again raised concerns relating to the increasing adoption of aerial technology by the group to carry out attacks remotely.
Intelligence officers are currently working on identifying the route that the drone may have flown and the persons who operated it.
Search and clearance operations are underway in nearby areas, while technical teams examine the remains of the drone and the type of explosives used.
According to security sources, the group appears to be adapting its methods as part of a broader strategy to destabilise the region through irregular warfare and advanced technology.
Officials say efforts are being made to boost aerial surveillance, improve rapid response mechanisms, and secure vulnerable locations across districts affected by militancy.
There is also a growing push for stronger counter-drone defences as part of the wider security response.
Authorities have reaffirmed their resolve to dismantle such networks and remove their presence from the area.
