Starlink Pakistan is set to launch its first satellite-based internet service owned by US billionaire Elon Musk.

Starlink Pakistan is expected to begin operations in the country by the end of this year, according to ProPakistani.

Starlink has agreed to operate under Pakistan’s laws and regulations. It has already submitted an application for registration with the authorities.

The Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Board (P-SARB) is finalizing a regulatory framework. This framework will guide licensing for all satellite internet providers. Once completed, Starlink will be registered and granted an operational license by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Recently, P-SARB held a workshop with satellite firms at a hotel in Islamabad. Federal Minister for IT Shaza Fatima Khawaja attended the event. Companies such as Shanghai Telecom, Amazon, and OneWeb also showed interest. Starlink is the first to apply under the upcoming framework.

There is speculation that Elon Musk may visit Pakistan for the official launch.

Starlink already operates in several South Asian countries. It is expected to improve internet access in remote and underserved parts of Pakistan.

Officials say Starlink will support Pakistan’s digital plans. It may also create new revenue and help economic growth. Authorities have confirmed that the service does not pose any security threat.
