Female journalist Batool Rajput has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar Khan personally called her after their interview and hurled insulting remarks and abusive language at her.

In a video posted on X, Batool shared that the remarks were so offensive that she could not even repeat them.

She claimed that Junaid Akbar accused her of taking money for the interview and questioned her credibility as a journalist.

Batool added that while she has faced such incidents before, she cannot stay silent every time, especially when a woman’s character is attacked. “The other person has to hear the answer,” she said.

After Batool posted her video, many people reshared it with a hashtag to show their support.

What did Junaid Akbar say?

In an exclusive interview by Azaad, Batool Rajput questioned Junaid Akbar about overseas Pakistanis’ protests, a clip of which quickly gained traction online. Responding to the controversy, he stated that he did not use any words during the conversation that he would be ashamed of.

He clarified that he was asked about the overseas Pakistanis’ protests, to which he responded that while those protests are visible, what is happening to them (PTI) is not. He further added that overseas Pakistanis have been the biggest supporters of PTI, and he will continue to acknowledge their backing on every platform.

The PTI provincial president reiterated that the party had always maintained some level of communication with the establishment, both before and after May 9.
