KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has announced a holiday for all educational institutions across the province in observance of Shab-e-Qadr. Schools, colleges, and universities will remain closed as per the official notification issued by the authorities.
Shab-e-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, holds great religious significance in Islam. It is believed to be the night when the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Muslims around the world observe this night with special prayers, supplications, and acts of worship.
Earlier the Sindh government also announced a public holiday on April 4 on 46th death anniversary of former Prime Minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
Howecer the Sindh government has cancelled Eid holidays of Transport and Mass Transit Department for the sake of public. The development took place to ensure a smooth travel experience for the public during Eid holidays. Therefore, transport officials will remain on duty to facilitate commuters.
