In a significant development, Sindh government has announced making a special task force aimed at transforming the aesthetic appeal and overall development of Karachi.
Chief Secretary Sindh’s spokesperson has revealed that the city Mayor has been appointed as the chairman of the taskforce.
The special taskforce include city officials including the commissioner of Karachi while the body will oversee maintenance, cleaning, and beautification of major highways.
Meanwhile, the special taskforce has also been assigned the responsibility of removing illegal encroachments, illegal parkin throughout the city.
Since the city suffers from sewerage issues, the task force intends to solve these problems as well.
The spokesman further asserted that there is a plan to improve Shahra-e-Faisal, Shahra-e-Quaideen, Sher Shah Suri, I.I. Chundrigar Road, and Abdullah Haroon Road roads in Karachi.
The task force plans to make pedestrian friendly walking zones in the city, along with increasing green spaces, upgrading street lighting and improve public facilities.
These changes are planned in order to improve the living condition for citizens, making the city much safer, cleaner and modern.
The government believes that setting up the task force is necessary initiative which is not just to increase the aesthetic appeal of Karachi but increase its economic and social development.
