Sindh budget 2025-26: check out how much Is allocated for public services

KARACHI: The Sindh government presented the much-awaited Sindh budget 2025-26 in the provincial assembly on Thursday. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah revealed a total outlay of Rs 3.45 trillion, focusing on public welfare, development projects, and financial discipline.

During his budget speech, the Chief Minister termed it as a visionary and a peoplefriendly budget aimed at making the lives of the citizens better particularly in sectors such as healthcare, education, transport, and clean water.

Sindh budget 2025-26

The Sindh budget 2025-26 sets aside Rs 600 billion for development projects across the province. A large part of this amount will go toward improving local government services, schools, universities, hospitals, roads, and public transport.

Key projects include:

  • Rs 130 billion for local government services
  • Rs 83 billion for school education
  • Rs 96 billion for irrigation and water schemes
  • Rs 57 billion for transport projects
  • Rs 12 billion for major projects in Karachi

The Chief Minister equally assured that key infrastructure projects such as the K-IV water supply scheme and new expressways to alleviate the traffic issues in Karachi would also be prioritised.

The Sindh budget 2025-26 gives special attention to social protection programs, healthcare services, and flood rehabilitation efforts. Funds have been allocated for upgrading hospitals, introducing solar energy projects, and improving drainage systems in urban and rural areas.

It is also planned to introduce a new digital cash transfer program to assist low-income families and those who have suffered because of recent floods.
