Pakistani climber, Shehroze Kashif has expressed his disappointment via X for not receiving national civil award, the ceremony was held on March 23 (today).

Kashif, who is the youngest Pakistani to summit all 14 of the world’s highest peaks, was not awarded a civil honour.

What did Shehroze Kashif say?

“Proud to be a 4x Guinness World Record holder, one of two from Pakistan, and the youngest to summit all 14 peaks above 8000m at 22. For 4 years, I’ve waited for the national civil award—only to be excluded last-minute each time. The excitement faded, but my resolve remains unshaken”, Shehroze Kashif said.

In the end, he congratulated today’s recipients who were awarded civil awards today.

Journalist Sohail Imran reacted to Shehroze’s tweet saying: “This is totally unfair”.

In 2022, Kashif was recognised by Guinness World Records. The same year, he became the youngest in the world and the first Pakistani to reach the summit of Kangchenjunga – the third highest peak in the world

He was unable to summit Shishapangma in 2023 due to an accident. Had he succeeded at that time, he would have become the youngest climber in the world to complete the daunting challenge of summiting all 14 eight-thousanders.
