Lahore Qalandars’ Shaheen Shah Afridi removed Karachi Kings’ openers David Warner and James Vince in the first over of the match.
Afridi finished with three wickets in the match, and his opening burst helped him set a new Pakistan Super League (PSL) record, he now holds the most wickets taken in the first over of innings in PSL history, with 22 scalps.
Yesterday, Shaheen Shah Afridi’s team defeated Karachi Kings in the 6th match of the ongoing PSL played at the National Stadium Karachi.
LQ is now in second place after the match.
It also marked Qalandars’ first victory over the Kings since the 2022 season, having failed to beat the 2020 champions in the past two editions.
Karachi Kings vice-captain Hasan Ali has vowed that the team will bounce back strong after the defeat against Lahore Qalandars.
While speaking to the media in the post-match conference, Hasan Ali stated that the team played well in the opening match, but their batting didn’t work out this time.
When asked about James Vince and David Warner’s dismissal, the pacer downplayed the impression of relying too much on foreign players.
