Pakistan’s Shadab Khan just had his shoulder surgery in London and is now set to begin the rehabilitation phase.

“Alhamdulillah, the surgery went well. Recovery and rehab up next. Request you to keep me in your prayers,” Shadab wrote.

Khan has been out of action in recent weeks due to a persistent shoulder injury.

According to reports, his recovery is expected to take two to three months.

Since his recovery is going to take months, he will miss the upcoming series against Bangladesh and the West Indies, and his participation in the Asia Cup also appears doubtful.

Pakistan vs. Bangladesh matches are going to start from July 20, while the Green Shirts are going to play against West Indies from August 1st, and Asia Cup matches are going to start from September 5. The tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The all-rounder was named vice-captain under skipper Salman Ali Agha for the tour of New Zealand and the subsequent home series against Bangladesh.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is aware of the situation, and since Shadab is a centrally contracted player, the medical expenses are likely to be covered by the board.

PCB is yet to release an official timeline for his return.

Performance of Shadab Khan during PSL

During the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he led Islamabad United, but the team failed to defend its title. In the three-match home series against Bangladesh, Shadab took four wickets and scored 55 runs across two innings.

Overall, Shadab Khan has represented Pakistan in 6 Test matches, 70 One Day Internationals (ODIs), and 112 T20 Internationals, scoring a total of 1,947 runs and taking 211 wickets across all formats.
